As a certified nursing assistant you will be expected to work closely with patients attending to their various needs. Some of the needs will be physical ones like bathing the patients, ensuring they are eating while other needs will be emotional. This is basically the main reason of training. In addition to that, it exposes you to the common equipments you will be meeting with as you take care of patient. You are expected to know how to measure blood pressure, heartbeat pulse as well as using other equipment which the sick people use. If licensed to do so, some CNAs are free to administer medications. The pre-qualification requirements vary from one state to another but the general ones are that you may still be enrolled in high school, you must be 16 years of age and you should be able to speak and write English language easily.
